How much we long for God can be directly measured by How Much we long for his Kingdom to be established in this broken and fatherless world.

Our Father who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be Done on Earth as It is in Heaven.
Give us our daily bread,
Forgive our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
Lead us not into tempation
But deliver us from Evil.

As we can see, First we should Long for God's kingdom and his desires then comes our needs and our desires.
We should long to See Christ in others..
The desire to see Christ manifested in everyone you know should be your foremost desire.
So we need to capitalize on whatever "Good" the other person has and magnify it.
Instead of telling a person his mistakes which he is aware of, praise him for the Good he has and then use that good to demolish the bad in his life.
This leads to Servant leadership where you become a servant for others to lead them from darkness to light.
I just thought of every person as a statue and God is asking us to work on them shine them to see Christ himself manifested in them.
So when you see God blessing them more, and using them more magnificently than you...your heart shouldn't cringe but rather be joyful that we have been of use to the master to establish his kingdom.
God was dealing with my jealousy,envy most of the times, teaching me not to cringe but to give glory to God.
